Jr. High As the junior high gathered this February for Arctic Blast 2010, we felt God’s presence in a very real way. Eric Kelly (with Youth for Christ) and his wife Megan were here from Indiana. Eric spoke about the cost of giving our lives to God. He really emphasized that God notices each and every one of us. He really helped the campers realize that even though they have messes in their lives, God knows about those messes and is still working on them- He has not given up on us or abandoned us. Megan led us in worship throughout the weekend. We had a lot of fun together as we played outside. Cabin competitions were exciting and fierce! We enjoyed some amazing sledding, broom ball, and hanging out by the campfire. Sr. High It was amazing to watch on Saturday as the Senior High campers bonded and really started to get serious about their walk with God. Mike Carrier from 93.7fm came and spoke about what it means to pursue the “narrow gate” in our Christian walk. He encouraged us to make sure that our lives are producing fruit as we live out our God purpose. He emphasized that the only way to do that is to spend daily time with God. Zac Bramante and his band from Lazy Mountain Bible Church came and led some very powerful worship for the weekend. God’s presence was felt as we lifted our voices high! The highlight of the weekend was having our own Olympic games here at camp! Every group was told that they needed to come up with a country name, flag, and anthem. Each group created a bobsled and skis. Then, they had to choose people to run them down the hill. We had a curling competition as well as a 3-legged skating competition. The competition was intense and the closing ceremony joyous! Thank you to everyone who helped make these weekends a success!! |
